BFA in Game Development with career interest in Game Design
Focus on Levels and Systems Design

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Joe grew up in the 90’s playing video games such as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Mario World. Captivated by their music and challenging gameplay, Joe was inspired by the emotional impact of these experiences. He first pursued the musical arts, learning how to play his favorite songs from games on the piano, but the mystery of games' impact as a standalone art form would push him to eventually start making his own games and get a degree in game development.

In his studies at AAU, Joe has become familiar with several aspects of game development, including using game engines like Unreal Engine 4 and 5, GDevelop and Unity to prototype 2D and 3D games, levels and systems. He is also familiar with visual blueprints and C# scripting, as well as designing for audio, narrative, and UI/UX.
